Here is our General Strategy Guide for Plants vs Zombies 2. Check out our individual level guides for specific hints and tips for each level.

1 - Take in the sun

You should always begin by building two rows of sunflowers. Start on the very back row and then onto the second row. When the first zombie saunters onto the screen, plant a potato mine on the third row immediately, or as soon as possible. This will allow the mine to grow in time to stops the zombie.

2 - Save the Sun

Don't build just for the sake of it. Wait until you need to build before dropping some sun on a new catapult or bonk choy! This allows you to place plants where you need them, instead of sitting there watching zombies advance, wishing that you had placed a plant somewhere else.

3 - Build a wall of nuts

Wall nuts are your next line of defense after you stop using potato mines. They should be places as far right in the screen as possible, to allow the weapons behind them as much time as possible to take out the zombies.

4 - Don't lose the Yeti

If you are on the brink of losing a treasure Yeti level, pause and restart the level. Hurrah - the yeti is waiting for you again, with all his treasure!
